Our team at Creative Works recently set sail with Royal Pin Woodland to breathe new life into their beloved pirate-themed laser tag arena. The result is a fully immersive experience that blends storytelling, scenic artistry, and cutting-edge tech.

Royal Pin Woodland has been offering laser tag since 2014, when they boldly removed ten bowling lanes to create a massive, two-story laser tag attraction. Designed and built by our team of “mad scientists,” the original arena was already a fan favorite. After years of minor refreshes, it was time to level up and reimagine laser tag in a bold, boundary-pushing way.

We started by diving deep into the heart of the pirate theme, revamping the space to deliver a brand-new adventure while preserving the spirit of the original concept. Our team reimagined the arena with new scenic features like custom snake and skull wall toppers, highly detailed murals, and layered low-relief elements that create a sense of depth and discovery.

One of the standout additions is a set of new LED maze wall clusters that tie into the laser tag system’s DMX lighting controls. These wall features change color in real time, based on triggers from the game. It’s a perfect blend of theme and tech that enhances both the gameplay and the atmosphere.

But we didn’t stop there.

We updated the Mayan adventure bases, added themed wooden ammo crate depots, and expanded the entry archway to make a grand entrance that sets the tone before players even step foot inside the arena. Everything, from the props to the lighting, was designed to tell a cohesive story where guests don’t just play laser tag… they live it.

This project wasn’t just about refreshing an old arena; it was about redefining what a themed attraction can be. Every scenic touch, every lighting element, every game interaction was thoughtfully designed to make players feel like they’re on an epic high-seas mission.
