In August 2023, Creative Works installed a custom mini golf course for Combat Ops Entertainment. This Meltdown Mini Golf has a radioactive swamp theme filled with remnants of a decaying nuclear factory. David Dimberio, the owner of Combat Ops Entertainment, shared his experience of working with the team at Creative Works.

Creating The Theme

The process started with napkin-style sketches, then moved to concept and storyboards. Creative Works collaborated with the director of branding from Combat Ops Entertainment to make sure the final theme matched the urban style grunge aesthetic of their overall venue. A big part of their customer base is adults, so they felt this theme offered a wide demographic appeal.

The Customer Reaction

The customers love the Creative Works mini golf course. A couple holes are visible from the arcade area, but the rest of the course is intentionally hidden. The rest of the course is revealed once customers complete hole 2. David’s team sees tons of smiles on guests’ faces when they finish playing the attraction, and that’s his number 1 indicator of people having a good time.

Support After Installation

Mini golf attractions take a lot of customer abuse, and Combat Ops had a couple issues right after installation. But the Creative Works team quickly resolved those issues. In David’s eyes, support after installation is one of the most important factors for choosing a vendor, and he feels Creative Works went above and beyond for his team.
