Creative Works Continues Partnership With Urban Air Through New Laser Tag Concept

We installed our new open air laser tag concept for Urban Air Adventure Park in Knoxville, TN, as part of a continued relationship between us and the popular trampoline park franchise.

The project was the most recent of many collaborations with Urban Air in the last year. The concept introduces unique benefits by breaking open the traditional “closed box” arena design. The themed attraction features half walls at the entrance of the arena, creating an open and engaging layout. This design draws attention to the laser tag arena and allows other guests in the facility to watch the gameplay from the outside.

The open layout also brings over new players who otherwise might not have played. It creates urgency for guests once they see others having fun playing the attraction. “It’s nice when there’s a game going on customers can see the fun [and] therefore want to participate,” says Bryan Harrison, owner of Urban Air Knoxville. “Definitely, there are more [people] checking it out. [It] makes it easier to schedule games because it looks fun in there.”

Additionally, the design opens up the experience to spectators. For example, parents can watch over their children while they enjoy a game of laser tag.

The Urban Air Knoxville location opened in November of 2019. In addition to open air laser tag, the facility has a wide variety of attractions, including a trampoline area, wipeout, warrior course, pro zone trampolines, battle beams, ropes course, sky rider, and a tubes course for smaller children.

We have worked together with Urban Air for several years, and within the last year, Creative Works built and installed four other laser tag arenas for the franchise.

“It’s been a phenomenal partnership working with Urban Air – both the Corporate Office and the Franchisees. The end results of our projects directly stem from the fact that we are all so in-sync about creating a stellar guest experience, and focusing on differentiation,” comments our VP of Sales, Russ Van Natta.

For Harrison, it’s all about making guests happy and giving them the best experience possible. He remarks that his favorite part of being an Urban Air operator is, “seeing families with smiles, whether they are members that you get to know, or just visitors for a single day. When customers leave happy it makes all of us feel great about what we’re doing.”
