Limitless VR Is The Top Performing New Attraction at Supercharged Entertainment

Supercharged Entertainment in Wrentham, Massachusetts underwent a renovation in 2023 to add multiple attractions to the venue. Malcolm Jones, the Director of Operations, shares why they chose Limitless VR and how it has become the most successful of all their new attractions.

The positive feedback from guests has been overwhelming.

This 125,000 square foot facility already featured go-karting, a ninja wipeout course, and a large arcade. They wanted to provide more experiences in the same square footage, so they found a way to become more efficient with the space during the renovation. And their updated attraction mix helped them appeal to a wider audience.

Overcoming Skepticism

The team started researching VR as an option for their new mix. They liked the idea of something that was cutting edge, but Malcolm admits he was a bit skeptical based on his experiences with early VR. “I’ve been to a lot of places that had VR when it was first a thing, and it was always broken,” he said.

The VR options in the marketplace have improved significantly in the last 5-6 years, but his skepticism is something that you might resonate with. Operators are sometimes concerned about the amount of troubleshooting or tech issues that come with “cutting edge” attractions like VR. But this is why research and play testing are so important

Any vendor can talk about their tech on a website, but it’s important to get out to locations or trade shows to play attractions yourself. The Supercharged team liked what they saw in Limitless, and made the decision to add it to their mix.

“We selected Limitless VR because it offers an incredible and immersive experience with smooth gameplay, and innovative technology that outpaces many other VR attractions. It’s probably the most bulletproof VR that I’ve had the pleasure of using.”

Choosing The Right Size

Limitless is an immersive, free roam VR attraction with physical props and barriers in the playing space. Free roam means guests are not tethered by cables, so they can move freely through the space and have an experience that’s impossible to replicate at home.

Limitless VR Size Formats

Limitless comes in multiple size formats: 6 player, 8 player, and 16 player. A lot of venues like the compact size of the 6 and 8 player, but Supercharged wanted an attraction that would do well with corporate groups and bachelor parties. The 16 player capacity made this an easy up-sell for these kinds of group events.

Top Performing Attraction

In addition to being a great up-sell for small group events, they are getting a lot of plays from walk-in traffic. This is because they have a bundle package that includes Limitless, bumper cars, and ninja wipeout.

This has resulted in an average of 400-500 plays per week. And it has been the top performer of all the newest attractions they added in the renovation, which include trampolines, axe throwing, digital darts, and bumper cars.

“The positive feedback from guests has been overwhelming, and we’ve seen a noticeable increase in overall guest satisfaction since its introduction. There’s no negative feedback.”

When asked if he would recommend Limitless VR to other operators, he gave a glowing review.

“My advice to anybody who’s looking at VR is to definitely get Limitless. Guests have nothing but great things to say about it. It’s a no-brainer in my book.”

Overcoming Initial Tech Hurdles

It’s important to be transparent. Even when Malcolm describes Limitless as “bulletproof,” no attraction is perfect. And their team experienced some tech issues when they first opened the attraction. But the support and training helped them overcome these issues and get to a place where the attraction runs very smoothly.

“The Creative Works customer support has been phenomenal.”

Malcolm also shared a tip for other operators who want to add any kind of VR to their venue. He recommends having an internal single point of contact who “owns” the attraction and works with the support team for the attraction. He has a manager named Brendon who is the go-to person for Limitless. And because Brendon is so involved, he’s often able to solve any tech issues without needing to contact the Creative Works customer support team.
